Free Printable Time Worksheets

How do students learn to tell time? They learn several different ways. The first, of course, is by learning to look at the clock in the classroom to tell time. First, they learn what the hour hand is, then the minutes. Although they learn about the second hand, too, that’s rarely important at a young age. Unfortunately, many children don’t learn to properly tell time at home. We are so accustomed to using digital clocks these days that clocks with hands seem increasingly outdated. That’s not the case, though, as these types of clocks are coming back into fashion as people look for more retro décor for their homes. Hopefully, more homes will get back to using clocks with hands and faces rather than those glowing numbers. The free printable time worksheets at PrintablesFree.com teach students how to recognize where the hands are to tell time. They’ll also get a chance to draw hands on the clock according to the times they’re given. These are fun time worksheets that most students will enjoy completing.

Telling Time Worksheets

Students often learn better by doing rather than by hearing or watching. These free time telling worksheets help students engage their hands and their brains in telling time. For each time listed, the student will draw the hands in the appropriate locations on the clock. The student must draw both the minute hand and the hour hand. It’s a great way to learn about time because the activity encourages both creativity and critical thinking skills. Students can complete this individually or in pairs. Once the activity is finished and you’ve reviewed the worksheets, remember to send them home with a fun task or activity to complete, too. Perhaps you can ask them to write down the time that dinner is ready that night, what time they go to bed or what time they wake up. It’s not a boring homework assignment but rather a fun, quick activity that can be done in under a minute. It gets students thinking about time while they’re at home as well as when they’re in school.

If you can't choose one, try all three! They're absolutely free, and we encourage sharing. Among the crafts, you'll find a werewolf stencil and two ghost stencils. Be sure to check back for more crafts and printables. PrintablesFree.com is updating with new materials and resources all the time! We'll show you how to use these stencils to create decorations that will make your guests say Boo!

Halloween Stencils for Fun Decorations
At the beginning of October, like most families, you'll probably pick out a few pumpkins for making jack-o-lanterns, right? Although the kids love joining in the fun, carving a pumpkin isn't quite as easy on the parents' end. Drawing the design before carving can take a while. Kits have made it easier to design a pumpkin, but then you have the same jack-o-lantern as everyone else. Our free printable ghost Halloween stencil can save you lots of time! There are several ways to use it for carving your pumpkin.

The first way to use the stencil is by cutting out the eyes, nostrils and mouth from the paper. Then, place the paper on your pumpkin and using a marker, color in the cut out areas. You may want to use tape to hold the paper in place while you do your work. This is ideal for a pumpkin that you want to keep inside. You don't even have to cut the pumpkin if you draw the face on!

The second way to use the stencil is by doing the above, but cutting out the areas that you've drawn on the pumpkin. Pumpkins that are placed outside need to be illuminated for visibility, so you definitely need to cut out the face in those circumstances.

Moving beyond pumpkins, you can also use these stencils to create fun treat bags for your children. Plain tote bags can be purchased cheaply at many stores, so all you need is one of these stencils cut out and some fabric markers. You can even use the stencils to make faces on white trash bags (to make ghosts). Simply place a ball or old towel under the trash bag for the "head" and hang up your ghost for your neighbors to see.
